Privacy Policy

Last updated 13 June 2026

Teder (“Teder”, “we”, “us”) is an independent app. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices. Questions: support@teder.news.

What we collect

Account information. When you create an account we collect your email address. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile photo from Google. We use this only to create and secure your account and sign you in.

Your activity in the app. When you’re signed in, we store the episodes you save, your listening progress (which episode and how far you’ve listened), and your notification preferences. This powers Saved, Continue Listening, and notifications, and syncs them across your devices.

Notifications. If you enable notifications, we store a device push token so we can deliver them. You can turn notifications off at any time.

Technical data. Standard, security-related logs (such as timestamps) generated by our infrastructure providers.

We do not collect contacts, precise location, or microphone/camera data, and we do not use advertising or third-party ad-tracking.

How we use it

  • Provide core features (sign-in, Saved, Continue Listening, notifications).
  • Keep your account secure and operate the service.
  • Respond to support requests.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for advertising or cross-app tracking.

Service providers

We use Google Firebase (Authentication, Firestore database, and Cloud Messaging) to run accounts, store your saved data and preferences, and send notifications. News and podcast content is delivered to the app from our content provider’s servers. These providers process data on our behalf under their own terms.

Data retention & deletion

We keep your account data until you delete it. You can delete your account at any time from the app (Settings → Account → Delete account), which removes your account and the saved data, progress, and preferences associated with it. You can also email support@teder.news to request deletion.

Children

Teder is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country), and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and stored with our providers using their standard security controls.

International transfers

Your data may be processed in countries other than yours (including where our providers operate). We rely on appropriate safeguards where required.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your data, or object to certain processing. Contact support@teder.news to exercise them.

Changes

We may update this policy; we’ll revise the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, notify you in the app or by email.
